Our society

Hatch End Horticultural Society provides local people with the opportunity to share their enthusiasm for, and learn more about flower, fruit and vegetable gardening.

Throughout its existence the Society has organised a range of activities to give members the opportunity to meet other gardeners, sharing ideas and experience in a friendly and convivial atmosphere.

The Society was founded as an Allotment Society as part of the “Dig for Victory” campaign during World War II. It held its first Autumn Show in 1943 and its first Summer Show in 1963.

The objective of the Society is “to promote and encourage the cultivation of flowers, fruit and vegetables and the interest of members towards that end”.

Membership is open to residents, allotment holders and gardeners in the district and costs £5 per annum.
